1/21- So we have a lot of info to share with you
in this brand new year. First off our DEBUT CD, "WAIT"
is finally finished. Click on the merch page to order a copy. We're
all really stoked... the artwork is amazing and the whole package
is just great. Those CD's will also be on sale at our release party
February 5th at the Rock and Soul cafe in Boulder. We're hoping
to pack the house so every former current and future Impediments
fan should plan on coming out, it's gonna be a ball. Also we plan
on completely overhauling this website and staying more current
to get all of these crucial Impediments reports out to you as they
come.
10/8- Hey everyone, it's been a while...We finished
recording, mixing and mastering the entire CD in early September,
and we all must say that it sounds pretty sick. Even our parents
think so. Consisting of forty minutes and nine seconds of fury spread
over nine songs, the album is going to be called "Wait".
We're hoping for a December 18th release, but that is very tentative
at this point. Mark your calendars anyways.
Of course, every great album deserves great cover art, for which
we've enlisted our good friend Taylor Gallegos, an awesome artist
and all-around badass. Check out his website, www.taylorgallegos.com
EXCITING NEWS: Our song "Canon"
is going to be played on the Locals Only radio show on 93.3 KTCL,
Sunday October 10th at 9:00 p.m. We're all super pumped, because...
well, we're going to be on the radio. Please, check it out, it should
be quite awesome. And don't forget to support your local music scene.
8/29- Finished all instrumental tracks today, and
started working on vocal tracks. We'll be finishing those up tomorrow,
mixing the next day, and mastering the day after that. Should have
a finished product then, with a tentative release date in mid-December.
8/28- Got into the studio today and met with the
engineer, Matt VanLeuven. Set up the drums at about 11:00, and promptly
sat around for about two hours as Matt set up mics and checked levels
on the drums. He then had to leave for a while, so we didn't end
up tracking anything until about 3:00 this afternoon. Despite a
slow start though, it turned out to be a pretty productive day.
Hammered out all of the drum tracks in about three and a half hours.
Tomorrow, bass and guitar tracks, and (hopefully) most of the vocals.
Pics to follow soon.
7/19- The Impediments are currently arranging to
record their first full-length album at 8 Houses Down Studios in
Denver, Colorado. The album will consist of ten to twelve songs
with some new tracks no one has ever heard before. Including us.
